Well, after wondering where to put this post...is it quality for delivery problems, environmental for pollution, or coffee break for a snack?

A cargo container evidently fell off a ship and washed up on an NC beach today. Man, I could have kept the kids in snacks for a long time!

Now THAT's the place for a Corona commercial.

man, I never thought about that! nothing like a little corona and some chips whilest lounging on the beach. What a bummer that I am working today. It's getting dark even as I write this, by the time I got over there it wouldn't be much fun anymore!:lmao:

doesn't look like the surf is too bad today....last week would have been another story, Chester might have had some problems with the 12+ foot waves during the nor'easter. Too bad there isn't an emotican for Cowabunga!

Reminds me of freshers week at university. We got 10 boxes of doritos put in our halls of residence free, worked out to about 20 packs each.

Ever since that happened I have not been able to look at a pack of Doritos without feel distinctly sick.

Sorry for being a bit skeptical, but surely if there was a hole big enough to release all the packets, that the container would have more than likely sunk?

Is this not a publicity stunt on behalf of our favourite corn based snack company?

I maybe totally wrong but the science of it does not add up. I know that containers do float, normally just below the surface, hence why so many ships hit them! Yet I would have thought, that a hole would have sunk it!?

My explanation: Container falls of ship washes up and someone from Doritos goes down there and spreads packets all over the beach!

Story printed this morning...only pictures yesterday:

As far as the hole, i'm guessing that was done closer to the shore? The outer banks can be quite dangerous for ships (or shipping containers). Lots of shipwrecks lie just under a few feet or even inches of water.
