Dear all,

I would like to know what is being explained in Note 2 clause 5.4.5.2 regarding about reference standard and reference materials.

Is it reference standard is a documents like ISO standard or is an object? What actually is a refrence materials? Is it only in calibration that we will use a reference standard and material and not in testing?

Thanks

Both are objects.

For example, if you internally calibrate or even check a set of calipers using gage blocks, then under ISO/IEC 17025, the gage blocks are a reference standard.

A reference material can be certified solutions, such as water or cement.

These are limited examples, but should give you a good starting point.

Hope this helps.
