Need recommendations for ISO-9001 consultants to plan and execute internal audits in the HW/SW company. Understanding of Customer Support Organizations is a must. Scope: 2 days of audit and 2 days for preparation and close-out. Only Certified Lead Auditors with 5+ years of Auditing experience, please.

What do you consider certified?

Where does the 5 year experience come in?

On what basis did you determine that a 2 + 2 mix is appropriate for the size and complexity of the system?

Do you realized that you may be arbitrarily excluding some of the best and most qualified auditors in the country with the certified stuff?

Do you actually know what you're talking about?

Please see answers within the quote.

Q:What do you consider certified?
A: I should clarify: IRCA certification or similar is a big plus, but will consider Auditors without certifications.

Q:Where does the 5 year experience come in?
A:I am looking for Auditors with 5+ years of auditing experience.

Q: On what basis did you determine that a 2 + 2 mix is appropriate for the size and complexity of the system?
A: basis of quotations I received from several "Big" consulting companies

Q: Do you realized that you may be arbitrarily excluding some of the best and most qualified auditors in the country with the certified stuff?
A: See above.

Q: Do you actually know what you're talking about?
A: Yes, I do... <do not want to print the rest of what comes to mind>?

I'm interested in how anyone can say that 2+2 days is suficient for an internal audit. Are you looking for an external resource to perform a single, system wide internal audit, or run the entire audit program?

In my experience, although an external auditor might accept this approach, it's not what will satisfy an effective internal audit program, and more frequent, smaller-focused audits would be better.

Otherwise, I could be interested, as they say, for the 'right price'..........;)

Your "Big" consulting firms may or may not be correct. There is a recognized "Guidance" for organizations that provide 3rd party audit and registration services which may contain a different line of thought on time. Additionally if this audit is for the purpose of meeting the internal audit requirement for a registration of the system it may actually be found to be appropriate for the size of the organization (too little time for adequate coverage)

Of course my not having any 1st hand knowledge of this subject along with many of the others here, we'd probably be talking trash.

And by reading your post here your understanding can be called to question
