View Full Version : Pressure Gauge Tolerances after Calibration

Does anyone knows about the tolerances of pressure gauge after calibration.
We already calibrated our pressure gauges but we didn't know the tolerances.
Anyone can help us....

You'll have to give us some more information, what size or range and type of pressure gauge (bourdon tube etc.). It may be a terminology problem, but if you don't know the tolerances/specification, how could the pressure gauge be 'calibrated'??

Good questions from Andy... Let me add a few more.

Did you already get the gauges calibrated, and they were in/out of tolerance?

Are you asking how tolerances are derived from gauges?

What type of requirement/industry requirements do you have?

We have some type of pressure gauge fo Air Leak Tester Machine.
We have 0 ~ 1,0 kg/cm and 0 ~ 0,5 kg/cm with 0,1 kg/cm resolution.
We already calibrated and show the correction is between 0.01 ~ 0.04 kg/cm at the calibration certificate, but we didn't know this pressure gauge ok or not.
Does anyone know the tolerances??

Thanks

You need to contact (A) the manufacturer of the gage and/or (B) your calibration provider to find out what the capability of the gage is (or should be).

Please forgive me in advance, but for the life of me, I still don't understand your question. Like Jim stated, contact the mfg. for the specific tolerance of your gauges. I am unfamiliar with kg/cm as a pressure measurement. Could it be a flow rate instead? Or maybe PSI, In Hg, kilopascals, atmosphere, etc.?

I don't understand why your certificate shows a correction factor. Did they not adjust it when they calibrated it? Why does the certificate not have the information you require on it?

I am beginning to raise an eyebrow regarding the organization that performed your calibration. Do you feel they performed an adequate job for you?

Again, sorry for more questions than answers.
