Your thoughts would be appreciated.:thanx: I would think that if the average QM knew about 17025, and didn't have a copy, he probably wouldn't need one. Hershal 21st December 2006, 04:22 PM It depends on whether the QM is in an accredited laboratory, or one seeking accreditation.....if he is, then absolutely he should have a copy. If he is a 9K registered manufacturer, then maybe not. Hershal ScottK 21st December 2006, 04:50 PM what Jim said. most of the QM's I know don't work for calibration and test labs. I don't have it. Jeff Frost 21st December 2006, 06:50 PM But if you one of your QMS documents makes reference to 17025 then you should have a process to assure the current revision is on hand when the Quality Manager is asked by a 2nd party or 3rd party auditor to produce a controlled copy of this document. Duke Okes 21st December 2006, 06:54 PM Yes, if the organization works to 17025, or if the quality manager would like to have a comprehensive understanding of the management systems required for operating a test/calibration lab. For the majority of quality managers the answer will likely be no. |
