Here is something for the US companies on the cove. The EPA has come up with a program for Environmental Stewardship. This is for companies that already have a Environmental program in place. Here is the link for anyone interested: http://www.epa.gov/performancetrack/index.htm
Many of the individual states have these programs in place, also. Just thought this might be something that be of interest to some.

The EPA National Environmental Performance Track recognition program has been around quite a few years. It was preceeded by an EPA/State Environmental Leadership Program for Pollution Prevention. Some states like Louisiana still have the earlier program in place. Others like Texas have a formal EPA/State agreement that allows for both recognition and regulatory incentives for facilities that belong to both the EPA Performance Track and State program (Clean Texas). Incentives can include the "top of the stack" approach to permit applications, less inspections, etc.
I am a member of the Louisiana Environmental Leadership Program Steering Committee and a sometime reviewer of environmental management system related award applications.

Just as my bud in Lousiana stated, this isn't news. Performance Track is an "oldie but a goodie". Here's a link to all US EPA Business Programs. http://www.epa.gov/epahome/industry.htm
This link is to all the programs offered by the US EPA including the business related ones. http://www.epa.gov/epahome/programs.htm
