View Full Version : Requirements to achieve accreditation for Automotive EMC Testing Elynn 4th January 2007, 09:48 PM Hi, anyone can advise what are the various requirements to achieve accreditation for Automotive EMC testing beside ISO17025? AndyN 4th January 2007, 10:59 PM If you are talking about a testing lab. doing work for an automotive customer, then as far as 'accreditation' goes, you can only be accredited to ISO/IEC 17025. You could be audited by your customer, but they are likely to use ISO/IEC 17025 as the audit criteria, anyway. No much 'wiggle room' here, I'm sorry to say. Andy Hershal 5th January 2007, 12:00 AM AndyN is right.....you become accredited to ANS/ISO/IEC 17025, with EMC being the method(s) in the scope. Make sure you talk to ALL the accrediting bodies.....go to: http://www.ilac.org Find the page with signatories, those are the ones that are acceptable internationally. Hope this helps. Hershal Elynn 5th January 2007, 12:10 AM Great help from you guys, Andy & Hershal. What about the AB requirements? Hershal 5th January 2007, 12:23 AM Each AB you examine should have all policies and requirements necessary either available through their website or links to the information, or a similar arrnagement. The exception of course is the actual Standard, but the AB can likely tell you a good place to obtain it if you don't already have it. One other point, before selecting the AB, get quotes and especially speak with organizations already accredited by them to find our what kind of service they received.....and look for recently issued certs to get the best recent information. Hope this helps. Hershal |
