ASTM E18-03 is obsolete - the latest revision of E18 is 05. The 05 version can be downloaded as a pdf file upon a credit card payment to ASTM - their website is ASTM.org. The 03 version is recent enough to probably be available from ASTM as a pdf download as well.

You can also get the 05 version by purchasing volume 03.01 of the ASTM standards. The 2006 standards include the 05 version.

The files are considered to be ASTM copyrighted property and are not be shared/distributed further than permitted by a company's agreement with ASTM.

ASTM also offers annual subscriptions where one can download a given number of standards as pdf files within a 1 year period - the number starts at 25 and then goes to 50. Costs are significant, but usually average less than the cost of purchasing standards 1 by 1. You do need to use most of your downloads to achieve the lower price per standard, and it is a use it or lose it deal. For example if at the end of the year you have only downloaded 45 of your 50 available downloads, when you renew for the next year you don't have 55, just 50.

Actually, E 18 has the procedures built in, both for direct and indirect methods.

Calibration and test labs typically use E 18 without having to write separate procedures.
