Please look into this first, and if it does not answer what you are looking for, please come back.

Hi everyone,
Basically, i dont know if my query would fit into this thread.
I had some problems on training, basically, i was trained in the ISO/TS1649 Requirements and part of this training, the core tools were discussed in passing only. This means that the core tools like MSA, PPAP and APQP were discussed, just an overview of it and what does it mean and how would it be used as a tool. My concern is that, would it be possible for me to teach MSA, PPAP and APQP though I don't have a formal training on these Core Tools? :frust: Please advise.
Or do i violate some of these clause. :frust: I am now conducting a plant wide TS16949 Awareness Seminar to all employees of the company. I am about to finish the said task and they are planning to conduct MSA, PPAP and APQP as well in preparation with out TS16949:2002 Certification by June 2007.
Hope to hear from you.
Please advise.
Best regards,
Raffy

Well Raffy, my answer might seem unreasonable but here goes:

An esteemed consultant in my area once assured me that a person need not be an expert to develop and deliver a class in a particular subject. He said that while developing the class, the instructor's research can provide the needed knowledge base. I'll add to this by saying that finding case studies to discuss as a group could turn the effort into a group learning experience.

The wrong approach would be for you to find a "canned" course and attempt to deliver it. The discussion group's facilitator needs to have enough depth of knowledge to enable him or her to keep the subject steered into boundaries of truth and practicality.

Another wrong approach is to hire an outside expert to come and deliver a whirlwind set of training, then go away. This approach often leads to the methods not being used to their potential, used incorrectly or both.

There is no need to expect a robust and fully functioning set of processes like PPAP, MSA and APQP because these are rather elegant theories. They can require many months to learn and implement. It seems okay to me to roll them out in stages.
