View Full Version : Mixed Model Assembly Line Control Plans - Many different options that are available

I am having trouble laying out a control plan for my designated assembly line. The problem is that we have many different options that are available on the units that are assembled on this line. What is the simplest way to lay out a single control plan that will encompass any and all options. I really do not want to make a control plan for every single type of model that could be built on the line. Please keep in mind that the facility I work in is non-automotive and not under TS-16949 regulation. We are only under ISO guidelines. I come from an automotive background and want to setup some control plans for our assembly lines. Any input is appreciated.

You should be able to create a single control plan if you clearly group and identify the various options and spell out clearly when they apply.

Test it out on the line operators and on someone not familiar with the line/products such as an admin.

You can create one control plan as long as it states that the different are options are referenced on the work order and that the operators know to use the work order to determine what combination of options are to be used. If your work order is specific it can be used as the control plan.
