For those who may be wondering, MSC 2007 (Measurement Science Conference) is Januray 23-26, 2007 at the Long Beach, CA Convention Center.
MSC is a non-profit organization (in spite of the .com website) and is the second largest measurement convention in the U.S.
Their website is: http://www.msc-conf.com
Free (so I have been assured) exhibits only passes are available at:

My workshop tutorial on accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 - Challenges and Solutions, went well.....the workshop addressed not only the usual requirements and description kinds of things like most others, but more importantly ways to prepare the lab for accreditation without killing everyone (figuratively speaking).....including how to market the accredited lab and some general ideas to help select the AB.....
Tomorrow is the Public Safety track.....I am Session Developer and also host.....

Hershal,
When you get a chance, please give some details on your conference. How many folks? Large companies? Calibration labs for profit/ internal calibration labs? Where are they on the 17025 track?

Sure.
For the workshop, there was a mixture of cative, for-profit, and government folks present.....the big dog on the block in terms of providing support is the Navy and Marine Corps, and they often have folks in every workshop or presentation.....the military wants to make sure their folks are up to speed on all aspects of technical issues, and they most certainly participate, which I like.....the others included folks from the Bio arena, and they were the captive labs.....most are not accredited and are at various points, from just learning how to spell QMS to very likely really to have an assessment.....
The Public Safety track had great papers but very low turnout.....not many folks sat in.....the presenters are recognized leaders in their fields, so the lack of an audience was disappointing, but for those who were there extremely informative.....and of course the full room flashover vid was cool.....
The receptions are where a lot of contacts are made and actually where some work gets done.....much like Congress in that respect.....the various Committees also get more done in a short amount of time.....
In terms of overall participation at the conference, I would estimate around 1000 people, and the companies range from one-man shops to global leading organizations like Boeing, representing almost every field.....
Next year is back at Disneyland, so make some plans now to be there!
Hope this helps.

Hershal,
I appreciate you taking the time to post this. My purpose (while possibly being inaccurate) is to see who attends to determine if it is right for me, and who the program is tailored for.
At every opportunity please post on upcoming seminars and all.
If they don't increase the prices to much.... I may be going to Disneyland!!
