Taiwan is one of the most industrialized country in Asia. If you are looking for Taiwan made CMM, go to google and type 'buy CMM machine in Taiwan' and you will get plenty of information.

Most major American and Japanese manufacturers (like Mitutoyo) have representative office in Taiwan (and other parts of Asia). Their home office in US should be able to help you.

Regards.

Thanks for the contact.

I tried Mitutoyo and my Taiwan contact and she told me that Mitutoyo does not sell CMM's in Taiwan due to some trade embargo.

I've contacted Mitutoyo, Brown and Sharpe, and now Zeiss. Are there any other major companies I missed.

There are the other companies that fall in the Hexagon Metrology umbrella like Lieca, Faro(if this would meet your needs), and odd aftermarket options like Open-DMIS Retrofits of old machines.

In the last year or so, Mitutoyo's corporate offices were raided by police with regards to some unauthorized CMM sales to China and Tiawan that ended up getting diverted to Libya's nuclear weapons program. They agreed to not export CMMs for a certain period. That's part of the reason they were likely difficult to deal with.

Good luck with Zeiss.
