wessamsheta2000 28th January 2007, 04:24 AM Hi every one
does any one knows when the new ISO 9001 version will be issued
and what are the differences between it and ISO 9001 / 2000
harry 28th January 2007, 04:46 AM With over 29,000 registered users out of which more than 5,300 are active ones, we are not short of inquisitiveness and topics of discussion (infact it's hard to think of one topic that had not been discussed before).
This question had been asked many times before. Go to the ISO 9001 QMS section and it is listed as the first item.

Two things -
1. Refer the link which Harry has posted, AND
2. Keep guessing ......
Colpart 28th January 2007, 06:02 AM I had a gentleman on my LA course last week who is on the ISO 9000 committee and he thinks that the first draft will be out inside 1 month. However, he was not sure whether it would be circulated generally as was the case with the 2000 revision, though he suspected it would.

We have had at least two drafts of ISO 9001:2009: WD1 and WD2. The upcoming draft is CD1.

Colpart 28th January 2007, 02:41 PM Sidney, I believe he was referring to CD 1.

Hi all
great subject, the main reason to issue this subject is that my external auditor (certificated body (SGS)) told me that they are expecting new version of ISO 9001 this year 2007 (exactly at the beginning) cause his theory depend on new version of ISO 9001 will be issued every 6 years as ISO 9001 /1994 then ISO 9001 / 2000, therefore ISO 9001 / 2006 latest 2007
another thing, he told me too that one of its new modification will be that NC's will be all consider as major, no more minor NC's or even observations.
so that's why I ask in the beginning
so ..................

That is the purpose of the cove - to exchange information that cove participants have from their jobs (thanks Sid! :bigwave: )to enable you to put your auditor right.
another thing, he told me too that one of its new modification will be that NC's will be all consider as major, no more minor NC's or even observations. Now you're scaring me! :mg: If this is the standard of advice coming from a reputable CB then we really are in trouble.
If I were you I would go back to SGS and ask them to confirm this in writing ... and post the reply on the cove. I haven't had a good laugh since Icy Mountain told me about translating real language into "AuditorSpeak" .... oh, that was only yesterday .. another senior moment! :bonk:
Claes Gefvenberg 21st March 2007, 06:51 AM another thing, he told me too that one of its new modification will be that NC's will be all consider as major, no more minor NC's or even observations. How interesting. Particularly when we consider the fact that neither ISO 9000 nor 9001 mentions major, minor and all that jazz in their current versions... :read: I seriously doubt that that particular can of worms will be opened in the coming issues.

I attribute this to the individual and the lack of professionalism on the part of many of these people. They do not realized that as a professional, they have an image to uphold and that they have a duty of continual learning/upgrading in order to provide up to date quality service to their clients.
The big boys (over here) do provide updates and information to their auditors through seminars, training, news letter and others. What about those working for the smaller CBs? - Especially the franchised ones.
This must be the best forum and resource around and yet I do not detect their presence (of our fellow country men - auditors) here in significant numbers. Maybe they are lurking in the dark. No wonder quite a number ended up like the ignorant guy mentioned by the OP.
Sidney Vianna 21st March 2007, 02:39 PM Shows how much your auditor knows ... Most 3rd party auditors believe that their clients are totally ignorant about issues such as the developments of the ISO 9000 family of Standards. So, it is quite common for them to prey on this ignorance and state "ISO-blasphemies" right and left, without being challenged. The net and resources such as The Cove should assist in keeping these people honest "straight".
Paul Simpson 21st March 2007, 07:16 PM I hate having to thank Sidney for the info he brings and to have to agree with his posts. I'm going to have a concerted effort to pick some holes in his arguments.
Who's with me on this? :lmao:
Seriously. This is a great resource, bringing sanity to an insane world. More power to your elbows, guys.
:applause:
Enough of this mutual admiration bull..... I'm off to pull the wings off some flies.
Marc 21st March 2007, 10:10 PM Also see the ISO 9001:2009 Status and Information (http://elsmar.com/Forums/forumdisplay.php?f=148) forum for news and information on the next ISO 9001 revision.

Agree with you paul. :agree:
but on the other side, we have to admit that they were (CB's) the only resource of info when we don't have such great forums.
I now get such great experiences summarized in very good way.
Ashok GS 25th June 2008, 02:18 AM A new edition of ISO 9001, the world's most widely used quality management system standard, is being submitted for voting as a Final Draft International Standard and, subject to formal approval by the ISO membership, the publication of the revised version should be in the October-November 2008 time frame
