View Full Version : Statistical Training Offered - Richland, Washington

Fluor has given permission for me to hold a public session of the two day training on performance measures and statistics. It will be on March 27 and 28, 2007, in Richland Washington at the Red Lion Inn. It is open to the public, and there is a $250 fee for the course.

The session covers Dr. Deming's Red Bead Experiment and System of Profound Knowledge. We spend a half day making control charts, histograms and Pareto Charts. There are two other hands-on exercises, and Systems Thinking is introduced, along with the Fluor SPC-Based Dashboard.

The proceeds will go to the local American Society for Quality section. Fluor is sponsoring the event (they are paying my salary while I give the training). The training materials may be previewed at http://www.hanford.gov/rl/?page=1156&parent=1144

Drop me an email at steven_s_prevette@rl.gov if you are interested in attending. If there is sufficient interest, we may run further session(s).

(I did check with Marc first to see if this was okay to post)

Thank you Steve, for your generosity in sharing your training materials. For those that are based faraway like myself, it becomes a form of distance learning.

Regards.

Really?! It shouldn't be doing that. But, yes it is doing it. I'm going to chase after the webmaster on that.

Meanwhile - we also have them posted on another Department of Energy site at http://www.efcog.org/wg/ism/Pefrormance_Metrics_Info/trendingtng.htm

Addenda:

Well, the other site just sends you to the Hanford site, so it is also blocked. I did just find out that our IT folks installed a "patch" this morning. Apparently, one unintended consequence was that any internet file with a picture or graphic in it is asking for a password. Hopefully it will be fixed later today.

It's fixed.

I think I will try to see if my boss wants to send me :D Seriously, I would love to learn about the Deming stuff from someone who knows!
