View Full Version : Mitutoyo F805 CMM issues - Runs on GEOPack 200 software

I think that I may be taking a long shot by posting this on this site, but who knows?

We have a pretty old Mitutoyo F805 manual CMM that runs on GEOPack 200 software. Last week we started to have some issues with it. Essentially, when you measure a diameter when in inch mode the result is x10, example: a 2" ring gage displays at 20". This problem does not happen when in mm mode. We have reloaded the system disc, program disk, swapped drive boxes (can't really call them computers) and none of these changes had an effect. Based on this information I believe it could be a system setting that we are not aware of. This machine, although outdated, is still used quite a bit so finding a way to fix it is our goal. :cfingers:

Thanks.

I know this might be stretching it - having to deal with Mitytoyo is not an easy thing - but did you try?

I have never had to deal with support on CMMs, but if it is anything like their support on their MeasurLink system or their spare parts group - you could be bashing your head.

I actually have contacted Mitutoyo, but have received no reply as of yet. I'm pretty much trying to throw out as many lines as possible in hopes of "snagging a fish" on one of them.

The CMM is very old, so I'm not even sure if Mitutoyo would even still have any info on it.

Thanks. I actually posted on that site just before posting on this one. :)

Thanks for all of your help!

Kosmo,

I am just kind of brainstorming here....

Have you looked on E-Bay for similar equipment? Many times that stuff is sold by people who deal with it every day. Too, you can do a geographic type search and find one near you.

Even if you contact the customer, they may can help you locate someone who works on them. Or you might can pick up some technical manuals.

Also, consider buying some for scrap parts. Many times if it is difficult to get old equipment repaired, medium/large shops will replace them. You can pick up some at a pretty good deal.
