I posted some Quality Objectives about 5 months ago and got some great feedback from Covers. Our management has been reviewing these objectives and wanted me to post them again. So, everyones opinion will be gladly accepted.
Quality Objectives:

Operations: To Monitor and improve, where required, process capability, machine scrap, operator training, safety, and labor performance.

Production Control: To continually improve delivery, and inventory control.

Purchasing: To monitor delivery and quality of materials from key suppliers to ensure that purchased product conforms to specified purchase requirements. Evaluating active key suppliers monthly, utilizing scorecards.

Quality Assurance: To monitor customer scorecards, customer concerns, and the company’s compliance, and continued improvement to the quality management system as necessary.

We have set metrics to measure these objectives and are in the process of setting goals or targets for improvement on some of them.

By the way, we are a Tier 1 machine shop for one of the big three. We have around 100 employees. We have been in business since 1973. We are currently ISO9001 with TS stage I scheduled for July.

Thanks Kevin

I usually think of objectives as having a target measurement of some kind.

I wonder how these objectives will be supported? It seems quite a feat to perform monthly supplier evaluations unless you have a running scorecard, in which running metrics are kept via data that receiving and purchasing could enter at time of dealing with the process.

The term "labor performance" seems a bit vague to me, not a very actionable objective. What kind of measurable performance are you referring to?

These are general goals, not objectives. As the previous poster indicated, objectives typically have specific targets (and therefore metrics to evaluate the degree to which the objectives have been met).
