Hi, I'm currently preparing for a quality campaign for my company. I'm a newbie in Quality field as well. Any way, we getting advices from Consultant. I have planned a series of programs like having poster drawing and slogan competition. Hanging poster and banner around the factory. Beside, we will have a Quality day to kick off all the quality program. I will do a small and simple exhibition. The whole idea is to raise quality awareness among the employee. Anyway, still digging to figure out what I should show in the exhibition.:bonk: Anyone have great idea? Thanks.

Hi.

Let me make a suggestion, but this may need to be "filtered" according to your culture. Things may be different in Malaysia than they are here.

That said, may I suggest a "soft" start? No big flashy posters, banners, or proclamations. Rather, choose one or 2 areas/projects that are visible and are sure to improve with a little effort. Then, engage the necessary people/resources and get to work. When the results become visible, THEN SHOUT!!! Give the people who worked on the project LOTS of visibility, and public congratulations. Make sure the "big bosses" know about it, and make sure the employees know that the "big bosses" know.

Resist the temptation to "blow your own horn", however. That horn sounds better when others are playing it.

When I do campaigns I approach them like this:

1. Look through your data and find processes where there is a clear opportunity for improvements, e.g. if you have a large number of defects due to a single cause this is an ideal option. If you have several options discuss with management and choose one, for the first campaign in a company I would always choose something that should be relativley easy.

2. Put a team together, try and involve people from a number of departments, not just quality and the department it has an immediate effect upon.

3. Present the challenge to your team

4. Do some brainstorming and come up with some ideas on how to tackle the issue

5. Once you have some ideas look at the feasbility and consider the impact these will have on the issue.

6. Start implementing the ideas.

7. Once implemented look at the results and decide what further action is needed.

8. Go back to step 4 an repeat till you have the desired result.

This is essentially PDCA and I have good success at a couple of companies with this method.

Another important point IMO is to choose something easy to start with. If you first project is a success future projects are easier because you can point to the success you have had, if the first project fails then others can point to what a failure this approach is.

Hi.Thanks to all that have reply,we have postpone the campaign to Early May as there were many IPQC system that still to be improve.

I've got an idea to develop internal warranty system, but still under discussion as we need to satisfy all the staff in one shot as we know it is difficult to make everyone satisfy.

Any further suggestion, please care to advise.

Thanks.

Regards,
Rafidah
