Dear all,
my company is a Aluminium extrusion factory. In conjunction with my company quality campaign, I'm planning on arranging an exhibition. Anyway, I'm still digging around to look for information and stuff suitable to show in the exhibition. Anyone have idea? :thanx:

When I worked in semicon we used to do stuff like this as part of our TQM activities.
For our poster boards we would approach it to show the PDCA cycle in work.
The first part of the poster would be a description of the issue we were tackling. For this we would use pictures of the defects and graphs which explained the issue.
The next part would explain what options we considered to tackle the issue culminating in how we chose which methods to pursue.
The next part was how we implemented it.
The last part was the results.
This was laid out clockwise round a white boards which was maybe 1.5m x 1m. In the centre would be the team name and a photo of the team.
In general I would say use pictures, graphs and diagrams as much as possible try to avoid lots of text, in fact only use text as headlines and little to explain what each poster shows.

Hello, Marcus!
I am keenly aware that people learn things differently. If individuals really put some long-term effort into developing good programs of quality communication, I think they would be a great benefit. I think that given some time and effort, a quality bulletin board could be something of great interest to the individuals in the organization, where people drop by to see what's up. Or, it could become a fixture on the wall, that no one is interested in. My point is: take some time to develop a good exhibition, so that it helps the cause; not hurt it.
Saying that, let's get to your question. First, with any presentation of any kind, determine who your audience will be. If you have a majority of semi-educated laborers at your facility, I might tailor the presentation to something that would interest them. Or, I might show one picture, and have two related facts underneath it. I have to be careful a lot to make sure I'm not presenting something that only myself and three others will understand. It should be universal to your audience.
Next, approximately how much time will people be spending looking at it? If it's 45 seconds, then hopefully your presentation will be that long. If you think people may spend two minutes on it, then adjust accordingly, and so on.
Finally, make it something meaningful. What two-three little items would you like them to leave with? Does your organization have a quality policy written by upper management? Maybe you can emphasize how those policies relate to the majority of workers in the organization.
Along with the other suggestions, maybe something is here that will help.

I think some very good ideas have already been put forth here. My input is that the workers always like to see lots of visual indicators of the work that they do, and the appreciation that customers have for that work. Perhaps you can show letters of positive feedback from customers, along with the physical part, or perhaps just a photo. Workers also like to see how the product is used by the customers. You may be able to get photos of the installation of the products made. Workers can take much pride in the positive reinforcement from customers that they factory is doing a great job!
