Depends on the product/function in question.
For Medical Devices ISO 14971 is a great start, but may be too heavy for non-medical applications.

If its automotive you seek then AIAG can provide you specific manuals on the subject.

The only caution I can provide you is that you need the right people on the team, and the Risk Assessment needs to be evaluated for action based on some criteria. Whether you choose an RPN action number or the top 10% is up to you.
