Hi everyone,

I've done the searches for Foreign Object Damage "FOD",but I was wondering if anyone has an updated presentation on FOD? I have to develop a system to include training, procedure, etc within the next couple of months any help would be apprciated.

Thanks,
al40

what is Foreign Object Damage in your context?

that could be a whole lot of things from bullets hitting people to a metal chip rupturing a diapragm in a regulator.

Try this from Boeing.

Not really...there are a couple of NASCAR race shops that practice FOD as a part of their internal operations. NASCAR itself practices FOD when they go into caution or red-flag to clean up tracks after incidents.

You could also use NAS412 or Boeing PRO-2396 which is their FOD prevention document. www.NAFPI.com is a decent website also for FOD prevention. They have a library that you can use - look at the guidelines portion.

Good stuff there bill:agree1:

Having been on the receiving end of FOD (inflight engine failures and such) I am one who appreciates a good program.

Here's a link to a short video I have shown people when discussing FOD. It really puts things into perspective versus discussing leaving a screwdriver in some production unit.

The irony of this is that I'm currently working on a corrective action for a tool that was found on an aircraft. The FOD gods mock me so!!

No one hurt and nothing damaged, so that's the good news...

I have a presentation, but it's too large to up load. Maybe I can send it to Marc and he can FTP it to the free file area.

Another instance of how I learn something from the Cove; I wasn't aware of the concept of FOD. I thought it had something to do with wearing proper safety equipment, like this (http://www.killsometime.com/pictures/images/Cat-Helmet.jpg). :D

I have a few things on record regarding FOD. Let me know if you need more. But first I have to figure out how to upload files on this thing.

Here is a little guide that may help. I am also putting together a presentation for a large group of new hires to our company. When I have it finished in a few days I will share it with you. Also if you go to www.fodnews.com, they have some good stuff.
