I have a helpfull DCAS inspector that is holding a non conformance hostage because the inspection report only covers the failure of the feature to the applicable thread gauge used. He wants actuals not the thread gauge and # turns above the limit.
Is there a Mil spec or other that covers that inspection of threads with thread guages I might use to persuade him that this is acceptable practice?

I just know this is the way it is done but can not think of a spec out side of API that address it.
Industry is areospace.

Thanks in advance!

MIL-STD-120 on page 35, 5.2.3 should do the trick. If this doesn't satify him, ask him to contact his boss for support in clarifying the issue.
