This site (http://www.businessballs.com/) was recommended by one of our 'UK' member - pretty good.

I donīt know to what extent you want your ice breaking activities, but one that has become quite popular here in Brazil is 4x4 in Jeeps.... It works kind of like this.... you hire about 4 - 5 4 x 4 jeeps and choose a well known 4 x 4 trail. The teams are divided into the jeeps and each member is responsible for one activity (Ex. Food / supplies, navigating, emergency equipment etc)... the secret is that your purchaser should not be responsible for food / supplies... try to give them responsibilities other than their daily professional responsibilities... The drivers should be experienced 4 x 4 drivers... they only drive and do not give opinions on routes or navigation... they only voice their opinion when a situation could get dangerous.... if the Jeep gets stuck in mud, itīs up to the team members to get the Jeep out with the resources they have with them or with nature around them...
Itīs a day long event and the closing can be with a b-b cue out in the open with everyone sharing "war stories"...

There is a series of books "Games Trainers Play' (or similar) which details many different types of team building/ice breaker activities.
I like the idea of the 4 x 4 exercise...........but it's better with Land Rovers!;)

Jeeps was a generic vehicle term...:D any 4 x4 will do... it even increases the rivalry between the teams when there a different vehicles being used... some will fair better in certain conditions... Our factory manager has a 4 x 4 Toyota which he LOVES driving into enormous mud pools... comes to work on Monday all proud that his car is covered in mud !

Ice breakers? What size group, and how will they be affiliated/associated after the initial session?
One that I have had some luck with is giving their name, department, etc. (the boring/ mandatory stuff), and then one novel topic.
For example, they have to give their funniest movie, what time-frame they should have been in (future, Old West, Ginghis Khan, Crusades, etc.). It's not earth shattering, but let's people try to remember others by small little things.
Then, you can have them in a circle of some sorts. Have one give their name (or movie, or alternate time-frame), then point to another. They give their name (etc...) and pick another.
The point is to do small magnitude stuff, especially if you have introverts in the crowd.

I like the "Tinkertoy Exercise" which may be found (with a bunch of other activities also) in the Trainers Exchange on the Deming Electronic Network website at http://deming.ces.clemson.edu/pub/den/deming_trainers.htm
