Hey Everybody

I know you get seven different types of capability indices, now does any one know what they are and except for the most common ones used in industry like Cp, Cpk, Ppk and Pk.

Welcome to the cove.

Have a look at this :

They are explaning 4 capability indices and 3 performance indices.

Hope this helps ( if not, please come again )

Best regards,

If you want a vast amount of information on a much larger variety of process capability measurements, I recommend "Measuring Process Capability" by Davis Bothe (ISBN 0-07-006652-3). The only caveat is that I do not agree with his presentation on tool wear in chapter 13. Other than that, quite a book.

Having 7 indices that you can calculate is one thing. More complicated is what they mean, when are they valid, when to use which one and how to improve the index.
