Our external audit showed a nonconformity for not having
"Criteria for re-evaluation for suppliers classified as MRO were not established."
I am looking for ideas for what others are doing to establish a criteria for MRO (Maintainence, Repair, & Operating) item suppliers.

Hello there, Road Rider!
A big Welcome to the Cove!!:bigwave:
Do you currently have a vendor evaluation program in place?
Here is one thread I noticed, with some different attachments that may be of use to you:
7.3 Design and 7.4 Purchasing - Creating the procedure (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=15909&highlight=MRO)
Supplier selection, evaluation and re-evaluation (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=9453)
Purchasing Procedure - Supplier selection, evaluation and re-evaluation (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=7329)- (This one had some lively discussion from a spirited individual:D . Just ignore all that; there's some really good ideas in there.)
Hopefully, there is enough there that can get you started. If you want, take a look at them, and maybe download Jennifer's and the other attachments. That should give you a good start.
Then, you can always post with additional questions/comments. Too, if there any additional areas of interest, you can use the search function to find out just about anything!
Again, welcome to the Cove!

Some organizations would not do evals on MRO suppliers ... focusing only on those suppliers most closely related to customer satisfaction (e.g., raw materials, transportation of product, calibration services ...). It's your company's decision.
And you are not required to specify the criteria in advance in a procedure ... you can decide it at the time when the evals are to be done, as long as someone is identified as having that responsibility and they document it at that point in time.
The criteria may differ from one supplier to another based on what they supply, and trying to nail it down for all suppliers in a procedure can get into a lot of overkill.
