Hi everyone,
Is the control plan can be applied to equipment setup control plan for a specific machines? For example, set up control plan for a tape and reel machines? I’m having some confusion with regard to the machine setup control plan against the control plan (prototype, pre-launch and production).
Would it be a requirement to convert our current Machine Set-up Control plan to the Control Plan required by TS16949? Please advise.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Raffy

IMO the setup of a machine is one part of the control plan (CP).
The CP covers all steps from receipt of material to dispatch and explains the controls on each sub process to ensure that the specific sub process performs as expected.
Set up is a sub process and thus the work instruction/CP/specification etc.. for the setup is a referenced control at that particular stage.

If you have documented procedures, work instructions, etc. that are required to set up the process and equipment, make reference to them in the steps of the product control plan. For example, you could have a step titled "set up machine parameters" with a process specification listed as "machine setup document 45613246" which would refer the set-up technician to use that documented procedure.
