View Full Version : What do you mean by Karma Power? Libnani 7th June 2007, 05:51 AM Dear admintrator of this forum I'm new here , what do you mean by Karma power ? Gert Sorensen 7th June 2007, 06:07 AM I think you will find all the answers you are looking for in the list at the bottom of the page :) Claes Gefvenberg 7th June 2007, 06:15 AM As Gert said, there are a few threads on the subject. I think Karma - How do I get karma? How does Karma work? (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=12411) is the most recently updated one. Basically, Karma is awarded by other users when they find your posts helpful. /Claes Marc 7th June 2007, 08:21 AM I didn't see the exact post off hand, but the Karma Points number is different than the Karma Power number. Karma Points number is not on each post (you do see representative green dots), but you can see your exact/actual number (rather than the green dots) in your UserCP (http://elsmar.com/Forums/usercp.php) (User Control Panel). Your 'Karma Power' is how many points you give a person when you give them 'Karma' via the Karma button http://elsmar.com/Forums/images/buttons/reputation.gif. If you use the Karma button you can also leave a comment for the person you're giving Karma to. Using the "Thanks" button http://elsmar.com/Forums/images/buttons/post_thanks.gif also gives 5 Karma Points but does not affect Karma Power. *Disconnected link by consensus. For some other information, see the vBulletin manual (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/vboptions_reputation). vBulletin now calls it 'Reputation', but it started out being called 'Karma'. dna_leri 29th November 2007, 12:54 PM I didn't see the exact post off hand, but the Karma Points number is different than the Karma Power number. My user CP says I have 57 points but I only have one green box on each post - how many points does one green box represent? So Karma power is how many points I can give a person, in my case 1? How does this get increased? Marc 29th November 2007, 02:51 PM The green boxes are the Karma points you have. There are 11 'green dots' and there are light green and dark green. The best I can tell you is these are the settings here right now. http://elsmar.com/gif/Karma_Settings-071129.gif NOTE: Giving 'Negative' Karma (Reputation) is locked out - And if you see a Gray box the user has chosen not to make his/her Karma public (changeable in each user's UserCP). |
