Hi:
We are having a discussion concerning the rules of the Triennial, particularly moving the audit date out past the registration date - our registrar states .''You are correct that we must complete the triennial audit based off the end date of the TS upgrade or registration audit. If we exceed this date, we must perform a registration assessment"
I can not find the "rule" or source for this - I am waiting for registrar reply, but thought I would also try here.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thx
Jeff

If you have the Rules book, check paragraph 2.5 and 9.4.1.
You can also check the attachment in this post. (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showpost.php?p=145703&postcount=9)

Jeff:
I don't have it to hand (my 'buddy Helmut Jilling will do) but it sounds like a TS rules issue to me. Do you have this document? Or you might have to look upo the FAQ's on the IATF website for this kind of info. Sorry to be vague. I'm sure that someone will be able to confirm this.

There is a chart in the TS RULES, 2nd ed. TS made this much tighter, and it must be keyed off the last day of the initial audit, or recert audit. 3 yr max from previous audit. Otherwise, the cert is no longer valid, and a recert is no longer possible. Hence, a new certification audit would be required. You may refer to Cl 2.5 on pg. 7 for futher info.
Many of us think this rule is unnecessarily ridgid, and causes some problems. But, that is how they set it up.

Just to pile on, I agree with all the previous posts and you can have the reassessmnet audit 3 months early from the 3 year anniversary of the upgrade or recertification, but 0 months late.
