Has anyone done compared ISO 19011:2002 to ISO 20000-2?

Thanks,

For what reason, they're not really related other than being ISO documents?

Service Management Code of Practice ISO 20000-2

ISO 20000-2 is a code of practice, and bascially describes the best practices for service management within the scope of Part 1 of the standard set. It was originally developed by the British Standards Institute, as the standard BS 15000-2, and was adopted by ISO under its fact-track procedures (committee ISO/IEC JTC1).

It takes the form of guidance and recommendations, and should be used in conjunction with ISO 20000-1. It represents "an industry consensus on quality standards for IT service management processes". These service management processes deliver the best possible service to meet a customers business needs within agreed resource levels.

It consists of the following ten sections:

Scope;

Terms & Definitions;

The Management System;

Planning and Inplementing Service Management;

Planning and Implementing New or Changed Services;

SD Processes;

Relationship Processes;

Resolution Processes;

Control Processes;

Release Process;

Thank you.
All I had was the description for the ISO library, which has “ISO/IEC 20000-2:2005 represents an industry consensus on guidance to auditors and offers assistance to service providers planning service improvements or to be audited against ISO/IEC 20000-1.” This could lead one to believe that a relationship between ISO 19011:2002 “Guidelines for quality and/or environmental management systems auditing” might be created. To the purpose of creating an overall internal audit program that would seamlessly blend ISO 20000-1:2005 into the audit program.

ISO 19011 describes the audit process which is common across ISO 9001, 14000, 18000, 20000, 27001 and other management systems standards.

ISO 20000 describes requirements for an IT service management system. Companies often implement its specific requirements on the basis of having established the more generic ISO 9001 standard. ISO 20000 adds much detail specific to IT in a manner compatible with ISO 9001. Companies often complement all that with ISO 27001 to manage the information security aspects.

The audit programme can be, often is, common across all the systems, which would usually be implemented as a single, integrated system. There are several common elements such as audit, management review, document control, etc, and they can be combined, not duplicated: if guidance on this (or, assurance that it's ok to combine common elements) is required, PAS 99 gives it.

Hope this helps,
Pat
