For variable measurement system , MSA including five studys:stability;bias;linearity;repeatability and reproducibility. Can I only select some of them to study? AIAG manual doesn't require all MSA study. Can you give me some suggestion?

Dear Landy:

You can always contact your ISO/TS 16949 registrar and clarify.

The following is acceptable for the registrar LRQA.

1- Gage R&R is required on all measurement systems (i.e. Measurement Systems implementing Quality Objectives).
2- For the Stability, Linearity, and bias, it is acceptable to do it in just one systems of the same kind. In other words, in you have three identical measurement systems, you do Gage R&R on all three of them and do Stability, Linearity, and bias in at least one of them.

Notes:
a) I believe this is defined in the MSA third edition.
b) This flexibility is available to handle situations in which cost or time required is high.

Hello landy,

When in doubt, you can always contact your customer. Does your customer have any "customer-specific requirements" with regard to measurement system analysis?
