Paul Simpson 4th October 2007, 02:29 PM Only if you are supplying product into European markets covered by the RoHS directive (or any other country / state that has similar requirements). In which case 4.3.2 comes into play and 4.5.2. So you have to assess the application of RoHS legislation to your company and comply with the requirements. Hope this helps! Sidney Vianna 4th October 2007, 02:30 PM Please have a look here (http://www.anab.org/HTMLFiles/docs/HeadsUp/HU102.pdf). This management system should capture the fact that the RoHS directive is an important new piece of environmental legislation, and then consider the impact of this on your business, and actions you need to take with regard to this. So in short RoHS is a specific piece of environmental legislation that you management system has to address if necessary. If you want to cover the RoHS through system, there is IECQ QC 080000 to help establish a system. This is a system for Hazardous Substance Process Management. So if it applies you can't get ISO 14001 (wherever you manufacture) without meeting the requirements of the directive. |
