Hi, need some help/ advice as my company is trying to get A2LA certification for our EMC test Lab and as an Internal Auditor, I have to ensure the Lab is meeting A2LA specific requirements.. I am from another division, so am appointed to be the auditor.

I have done some reading on the requirements, but have not seen a PT reports, except the one done by the test Lab. Something I find it questionable is that the so called PT Results report... was prepared and issued by the Lab's Technical Manager, approved by the Senior Engineer... seemed no involvement of an accredited PT provider. Is this acceptable? There is an accredited PT provider in A2LA list.... so..... ??? :bonk:

I don't know what the policy of A2LA is but if there was a relevant external PT provider then our AB (UKAS) would need a very good written justification for not participating in external PT. Your job as internal auditor is to judge whether that justification is reasonable. I would contact A2LA.

The best thing is to read the A2LA policy from their website, and speak to the assigned lead assessor.

Hope this helps.

Thanks both...
My question here is... there is only one relevant Lab in A2LA but located in the States. Need is compulsory be A2LAdesignated?

Double-check with A2LA, but it might be a bit of a stretch to require an A2LA accredited organization.....one that would make more sense based on geography is PT Australia (formerly part of NATA).

Thank you Hershal. We managed to resolve that.

But one more question - Is there a need for Immunity to conduct PT? So far, we have only done for Emission....
