TS clause 6.3.1 states:
Plant, facility and equipment planning:
The organization shall use a multidisciplinary approach for developing plant, facility and equipment plans. Plant layouts shall optimize material travel, handling and value-added use of floor space, and shall facilitate synchronous material flow.”
What do you think “synchronous material flow” mean?
Does it mean continuous flow in the TPS?
Or does it mean “Objects from place A can go to place B, and objects from place B can go to place A simultaneously?”

Hello darkafar,
I found this (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=synchronous+material+flow&btnG=Google+Search).

Got it. It is continuous flow in the TPS. :)

Now you are on the right track. Also see this as a jumping off point for Theory of Constraints: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eliyahu_M._Goldratt
I attended one of the R.B. Vollum three day workshops and it was well worth the price of admission. When he's done, you will clearly understand the theory of constraints and synchronous flow manufacturing.

HIiiiiii
You are right. It is derived from lean manufacturing. I think in the clause also there is a small note telling this " these should be derived from lean manufacturing principles & shall indicate effective of quality management system"

Dear Darkafar, could you kindly give me more information about synchronous material flow and its relation with continuous flow of TPS? Thank you !!:thanks::thanx:
