We are a tier 2 company. Our products go to tier 1, which is our sister company in USA, and our product will go to Ford, GM etc eventually.

APQP manual page 17 states, "The design information checklist ......will also serve as a basis for the open issues disussed in the team ommitment......"

This sentense confuses me. Is it a big three specific requirement that we must use the design information checklist?

APQP page 1 state:
the words "shall", "will" and "must" indicate mandatory requirements.

If the manul states:
The organization shall, (or will, or must) do something, then I understand it is a requirement. We must do it.

But if the wording is:
XXX shall, (or will, or must) help you find the solution, I am not sure if it is a requirement that I must use XXX.

:frust:

The APQP book is only auditable if the use is mandated by the customer

The foreword page i also says it is a guideline.

IOn the end it depends on what your customer wants
