View Full Version : Validation Of Process for Vehicle Manufacturing Factory

Hello
We are a vehicle manufacturing Compnay and we don't have design while the mother company provides us with it.

So, the Process to be validated in each Vehicle Manufacturing Shop(Welding - Painting -Assembly) ?
** As example in welding shop:
1) Welding Process by Periodical Destructive testing & Chisel Check.
2) Body Vehicle Parts Fittings by Measuring the Body in three dimensions.
** For Painting Process:
1) By Measuring the Different Painting Layer Thickness & Calculating Process Capabilities
2) By Making the Hardness and Adhesion Testing.
** For Assembly Shop:
After the vehicle is assembled a validation process is conducted at the end of the assembly line, this final inspection tests for properly fitting panels; dynamics; squeaks and rattles; functioning electrical components; and engine, chassis, and wheel alignment. Also a Sample Vehicle is periodically pulled from the inspection line and given full functional tests.

My Question:
Is this enough to cover the ISO 90001:2000 requirements from Process Validation point of view?
Thanks for Help

A similar question has already be posted. The reply (not just mine) was that you have to validate your processes where you can't inspect the quality.

So to restate it, welds can't simply be checked by chisel test (that's an old fashioned, out dated method and costly too) and paint thickness isn't a test of adhesion.

I don't mean to sound controversial, but why didn't you accept the first answers? If you have a dilemma regarding how to do this, we can help. But please don't create a situation for yourself where you keep asking the same questions and hope for a different answer. You won't get the help you're looking for that way.........
