I have data in the Date format "11/3/2007 12:00:00 PM". All of this data is in a single cell. I'd like for it to be converted to the text format "Monday". I've used calculator to extract the date and turn it into "11/3/2007" but I can only display it as a 3, not Monday.
Can this be done in Minitab? I have too much data to plug into Excel.
Thanks.

I have only limited experience with Minitab, but they have fairly extensive online help files. If you go here, (http://www.minitab.com/support/docs/rel14/14helpfiles/#Tools) for example, you might find helpful information. You can ask for direct help here (https://customer.minitab.com/Default.aspx?bhcp=1) if the general help files don't contain what you're looking for.

Dear Michael
Follow the next sequence of commants in Minitab14 : Data>Extract From Date/Time>To Text and in the options panel where it says "Specify at least one component to extract from date/time" choose "date of week" ar any other option you want.
I hope that i have helped you solve your question!!
