My wife (who does marketing for a food broker) brought home a new sales sample on Friday...

"Snickers Charged"

It's a Snickers bar with 60mg of Caffeine.

I had to ask "who is this being marketed to"? She didn't know off hand because Mars is not one of the clients she works with.

It's a candy bar... but it has a warning that it's "not recommeded for children, pregnant women or people sensitive to caffeine".
That seems to remove a large chunk of the candy bar market.

How long until this becomes an epidemic when kids have has a couple of these with a can of "cocaine" (recently changed to "no name") brand energy drink (280 mg caffeine) and start regularly enjoying caffeine intoxication at school...

Great job on behalf of Mars.
Hey - let's get kids fat AND amped on amphetamine alternatives!!!

I can see it now. The next recognized disorder in the Physicians Desk Reference will be CDHD - Chocolate Driven Hypercola Disorder!!

Can we inject some into ISO? It might make constantly reading their standards easier and less time consuming.

I wouldn't recommend their standards to Children, Pregnant Women or those sensitive to caffeine either.

Just kids??? How many adults do you see knocking down these energy drinks all the time. I could not imagine the run-of-the-mill Venti-large drink at Four-Bucks coffee is not significantly less in valuable nutritional content.

My daughter (14 yrs. old) was a regular in drinking Energy drinks at least 2-3 times in a week over the summer. Then she could not figure out why she was breaking out in her face all the time. I suggested maybe it was the Energy drink, she stopped and her skin looks perfect now....personally I can't even stand the smell of them when they get opened up. I think my daughter would stay away from the caffeine charged Candy bar knowing what it does.
Not sure where MARS is going with this, but I'm in my late 30's , I don't need anymore caffeine in anything with all the excitement I get with raising 2 teenagers and my wonderful job :biglaugh: Plus just looking at a Candy bar has me gain weight :mg:
... Now if they make a Candy bar with a mild sedative or tranqualizer in them, I'd be the first one in Line to buy lots of them...know a few people that could use them, not for personal use of course :notme:
