Some of my most creative thought processes come once I escape the madness of the corporate world! :paint::paint: Hiking isn't my thing, but I do enjoy riding my motorcycle to "escape".... When the weather isn't cooperative for riding, though, I enjoy doing something creative such as making cards, scrapbooking, photography, painting, writing, etc. I've found that there's therapy in such creative outlets, not to mention the stress-relieving benefits! :biglaugh: Doug 11th December 2007, 04:28 PM I used to enjoy writing until ALL of it became QMS manuals!!! :lmao: Doug 11th December 2007, 04:40 PM Until someone invents a motorcycle with an auto transmission, the propescts are unlikely that I'll ever ride!!! (Uncoordinated) Dan Armstrong 11th December 2007, 04:44 PM My Brother-in-Law and I have been section-hiking the AT for the last four years. We've done most of TN/NC, and Shenandoah NP so far. Not bad for two old men hiking a couple of long weekends a year. :ko: We're going to finish Great Smokey Mountains NP over Memorial Day, and I plan to do WV to PA this summer. We haven't planned Labor Day yet. Doug 11th December 2007, 04:50 PM Jealous!!! I've lost my personal focus the last couple off years and turned into a couch/work potato. Good Journey to you on the AT! Randy 11th December 2007, 05:27 PM Does anyone else enjoy hiking to clear the brain and free the soul? Miner 12th December 2007, 11:29 PM I love hiking to get away from the stress. I don't get out as often as I would like, but every time I make, I think "What took me so long?" One of my favorites is the Hocking Hills area near Athens, OH. Dan Armstrong 13th December 2007, 09:40 AM Jealous!!! I've lost my personal focus the last couple off years and turned into a couch/work potato. Good Journey to you on the AT! Thanks. At the rate I'm going I'll be 90 before I finish! ScottK 13th December 2007, 10:03 AM Does hiking on an elliptical machine at the gym count? Actually I've been going to the gym at lunch rather than after work. I find that it recharges me for the rest of the day and lets me blow off steam on rough mornings. |
