I work at a stamping facility and currently there is no containment actions or process flow chart for this procedure. This is what we have currently.

1.3 In the event that nonconforming product/process is discovered, an audit of all material produced since the last acceptable inspection will be performed.

Where I came from prior we had a process flow describing all the actions when a contaiment needs to occur.

Any help?

Effective containment requires some form of lot control. How do you determine where all of the material made since the last accepted lot might be? That's a rhetorical question--it's the first thing you need to ascertain when you're trying to develop a containment process. Material might be spread across:

WIP (Work In Process)
Stockrooms
Shipping dock
In transit to customers
In customers' possessionLook at each of those and determine whether or not you can identify material as being (at least) suspect. Your general procedure for dealing with containment will flow from that.

Would any one have an example for me to see?
