Hello T S Rao,

Effectiveness can be viewed as the ability of the Quality Management System (QMS) to deliver the expected results.

The intent of an ISO 9001:2000-based QMS is to make the customer happy...and allowing your organization to turn a profit.....

A few things come to mind:

Quality of goods/services delivered
Delivery peformance
Overall customer satisfaction
Profitability

The same can be said about the processes that make up the QMS.

What is the process expected to accomplish? (Objective)
To what extent did that happen? (Measurement)

There are many threads and posts about effectiveness (objectives and measurements) here. Search around and you'll find good stuff.

Hope this helps a little.

Stijloor.

Hi TS,

I think this thread will complement the other one entitled: Can NonConformance (NC) be raised against Effectiveness? (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=25335) Some answers may be there even though the other thread pertains to TS16949.

Good material for discussion in the light of some interpretations in the other thread.

The auditor does not need to be convinced. All you need to do is provide the auditor with the data showing that the QMS and its processes are performing as intended. In my opinion, this concept is way over-analyzed.

Just as Harry suggested, look at other threads. Don't get confused though...:)

Namaskara TS Rao,

Stijloor and Harry have given great advice.

To add further, I am attaching a MS PowerPoint presentation titled, Aligning the quality management system with the achievement of organizational and business success from ISO.

Good Luck :agree1:
