I have to fly to Portland for a few days and I can't remember ever flying on Frontier. My mother flew with Frontier....She said it is one of the best!! Marc 24th January 2008, 10:21 PM I'll say one thing, there's no 'easy' way to get from CVG or DAY or Columbus, OH to Portland and back. I have to be there on 4 Feb and leave after 7 PM on the 7th. I've heard from west coast friends that Frontier is pretty straightforward, but kind of spartan. Please report back on the experience! Marc 24th January 2008, 11:36 PM Please report back on the experience! I will. It looks like I'll be traveling about 10 to 20 days (well, not actual travel days - Maybe I should say 1 to 4 'trips') a month for a while. Marc, Upon your return, you can complete this FRONTIER AIRLINES Customer Satisfaction Survey (http://www.passengersurveys.com/Airlines/FRONTIER.htm). Stijloor. Randy 25th January 2008, 12:42 AM I used to fly Frontier quite a bit when I was living in California and found it pretty good. Frontier's President was on one of my flights working as a flight attendant and he seemed to be a real down to earth guy (Just a few years earlier he had been a gate agent I heard). I think they just use A319's and A320's. tomvehoski 28th January 2008, 10:47 AM Frontier does have Direct TV ($5 per segment) if you want some entertainment. www.seatguru.com if you want some more details. Delta should be able to get you to Portland non-stop out of CVG, but probably is more expensive. Scott Catron 28th January 2008, 12:38 PM I flew Frontier on my way back from my Grandma's funeral in December - Milwaukee-Denver-Salt Lake. There was a lot of snow the day I was supposed to leave - many school closures & some issues with snow removal at the airport. Frontier canceled the flight about 5 hours before it was to leave - saving us the trip into the airport, about an hour away - and also automatically re-booked me on the same flight the next day. I thought that was pretty efficient customer service. The seats seemed to be bigger then typical airline seats, and the in-flight TV service was free until just after take-off. After take-off, one station was still free - a map with a plane icon showing the current position, altitude and airspeed of the aircraft. All things being equal, I'd fly them again if given the choice. Marc 28th January 2008, 12:53 PM Delta should be able to get you to Portland non-stop out of CVG, but probably is more expensive. No direct flights listed that I saw. All were at least one change over and 9+ hours total time. If I could have found a direct flight, I definitely would have. Of course I could have missed something. Al Rosen 28th January 2008, 06:20 PM Marc, you probably didn't miss anything, but try KAYAK.com. It allows you to search using more options than some of the other travel sites. Helmut Jilling 28th January 2008, 09:10 PM What is Frontier Airlines like? Reputation or comments? I have to fly to Portland for a few days and I can't remember ever flying on Frontier. I have two brothers in Colorado who fly it frequently. They like it, when the itinerary is convenent. I had to cancel a flight due to weather a year ago, and they were very fair. tomvehoski 29th January 2008, 11:26 AM Looks like one non-stop a day each direction: (www.skyteam.com) DL 1521 Cincinnati (CVG) 08:55 AM Portland (PDX) 10:53 AM 757 4h58min DL 698 Portland (PDX) 11:45 AM Cincinnati (CVG) 06:55 PM 757 4h10min Marc 29th January 2008, 12:17 PM Thanks for the feedback. I'll check the direct flights out. Only problem is I'll have to stay over for a night because the 7th I'll be with a client until about 5 or so. Marc 29th January 2008, 12:26 PM I checked out the non-stops from CVG. They run about US$600+ more than flying out of DAYton, OH. As I remember, when I booked the price difference was the reason I focused on DAY. |
