Currently, we have our quality objectives listed in our quality manual under section 5.4.1. My question is, do they really need to be there? Do we need to list the specific objectives in the manual?
We have a quality objectives chart hanging throughout the facility so everyone knows and is aware of the objectives at any time. We are going to remove an objective and add 2 more. I'd prefer not to have to revise the manual each time we change an objective.
Could I just generically state our Quality Objectives are posted throughout the facility without the need of listing each one in the manual?
Thanks

No - in fact, as your business needs change, so should your objective.

Good - shows communication.

Absolutely - your objectives should change as you set goals and achieve those goals.

Carol is exactly right (as usual).
Why set yourself up for frequent Q Man revisions if you don't have to?

Thanks! That's what I thought too and I don't recall why I put them in the manual to begin with. I bet our consultant said it would be a good idea before ever seeing our objectives chart.

Hi noboost4you,
We define quality objective as a goal that is consistent within the quality policy and consider significant quality impacts. Objectives must be quantified whenever practicable. Quality objective was defined in our Level 1 Document which was the Quality Manual, then it it referred to a procedure " Generation of Quality Objectives". Part of the attachment was a sample of the Quality Objective. We have a Company Quality Objective or Goals. These goals were discussed by the Top Management. Each Goal are linked to each department Goal to support what are the actions to be taken to help achieve the company goal. In our department goal, each of us in the department has an individual goal to support how are we going to support our department goal.
Hope this helps.

Hi noboost4you,
You can state in your QC Manual that your quality objectives are revised in the management revision process and registered on a controlled document. Every time you update your objectives, a new version of your "quality objectives" document is released.
Hope this helps you.

Pablo

I like this approach, Pablo. Though I like to put many things into the manual, but the objectives change too often. Some people put them into their Business Plan.
