View Full Version : Are FIR's performed per AS9102, either at Tier 2 or from Tier 3's?

I am completing a supplier questionnaire from one of our customers, and I'm hoping someone can help me out with this question:

"Are FIR's performed per AS9102, either at Tier 2 or from Tier 3's?"

At first, I thought this was a typo, and they meant FAIR. But they distinctly ask for a FAIR per AS9102 in a separate question. They also included an acronym list, and FIR stands for "Full Inspection Report." I looked high and low through AS9102, and I can't find any mention of this. Can anyone shed some light?

It sure looks like a typo to me. I guess I would call the customer and ask them to clarify their requirement.

Actually, that's what I ended up doing. I think it could have been written better, but this is what they meant:

Do the final inspection reports have all the characteristics that would be included on AS9102 even if they aren't necessarily done on those forms or controlled the same way?
