Can anyone suggest a means of evaluating a suppliers performance, when the supplier is the only supplier in the region. Do we still have to go through the motions?

Carl Redman 18th April 2001, 02:27 AM Can anyone suggest a means of evaluating a suppliers performance, when the supplier is the only supplier in the region. Do we still have to go through the motions? Carl CarolX 18th April 2001, 12:34 PM Carl, You still need to address that situation in your procedures. This how I did it. Vendor approval: 2.3 VENDORS SHALL BE APPROVED BY ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING METHODS: VENDOR ASSESSMENT SURVEY AUDIT/ON-SITE REVIEW SATISFACTORY HISTORY CUSTOMER SPECIFIED SPECIFIED BY MANUFACTURER (DISTRIBUTORSHIPS) For vendor performance, I added this to my procedures: 5.2 THERE MAY BE VENDORS THAT ARE SOLE SOURCE FOR SUPPLIES OR SERVICES WHICH HAVE BELOW STANDARD VENDOR RATING. AFTER ALL OTHER AVENUES OF CORRECTIVE ACTION HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED, WE MAY REVERT TO 100% INSPECTION AND ALL OTHER CORRECTIVE ACTION MEASURES SHALL BE SUSPENDED. Hope this helps, CarolX [This message has been edited by CarolX (edited 18 April 2001).] energy 18th April 2001, 01:07 PM Carol X, I copied the entire post and added it to my "Supplier" reference files. I'll use it. I'm not proud. Thanks energy CarolX 18th April 2001, 03:37 PM energy, NP - I am sure I "borrowed" that section from someone else. CarolX Al Dyer 18th April 2001, 08:09 PM The Cayman Cove is probably the Napster of the "quality" world! Wouldn't do without it! (Hope the boss isn't surfing the forums today) ASD... |
