View Full Version : FAI (First Article Inspection) for Chemical companies isomann 20th February 2008, 04:21 PM If a company produces chemicals instead of parts, how can the AS9102 be completed? andygr 21st February 2008, 12:24 PM Since you are referancing AS9102 I will cover this from an aerospace perspective. As long as you do not order chemicals to your specification such as just calling out reagent grade acetone you will just need to referance the CofC on the FAi form for these. If you do nothing else other then you are done. If you then use an internal process to create a new chemical from the components then you need to cover the processing as part of the AS9102 form 2. If you in the procedure state that you process at 175 deg f then all you do is enter the actual temp and so forth. :2cents: BadgerMan 21st February 2008, 02:32 PM If you are producing something then you must have design data (a specification?) that defines what you are producing. What are the properties or characteristics that define the chemicals you are producing? These would be listed in your specification and will be verified via the FAI process (noted on the AS 9102 forms). |
