View Full Version : AV equals Zero in Minitab - MSA with 2 Appraisers

Hello

I have done a MSA (nested) in Minitab with 2 apprasiers and I have seen that my AV is zero , this seems rather strange ( as there is difference between the appraisers) can anyone help ?

Can you share the data with use?

Sometimes the calculation has a negative result.

Then it is set at 0 ( default setting )

Could you explain a bit more and attach the MINITAB file.

How is the design nested? What are the samples in coil and deel sample meanings. Which did you choose to analyze?

BTW, there is no AV in MINITAB? Do you mean reproducibility?

Hi we have done an destructive test on the plastic adhesion of plastified wire
we have cut the wire in 5 pieces and than these 5 pieces in 8 pieces
each operator (2 operators) have then measured 4 of the 8 pieces
(plastic adhesion ) I hope this explains a bit more the test

I am at home right now and do not have access to Minitab, so I cannot open your file. A destructive MSA is considered a Nested MSA in Minitab. Did you analyze the data using Minitab's nested MSA routine?

I just had time to review your data. The Reproducibility (AV) is zero because the average results of both operators is identical. Sometimes it happens.

The most interesting thing is the striking difference is repeatability between your two operators. Find out what Daan is doing different from Filip, standardize it and train Filip in the new method. This will greatly reduce your Repeatability (EV).

I hate Minitab and use QImacros
This is out of the MSA and easyier to use.

I love QI Marcos it is so much easyer.

A word of caution. The nested MSA available in Minitab is the correct technique for destructive MSAs. The QIMacros study appears to be a standard fully crossed study. A crossed study assumes repeat measurements on the same part.
