Can anyone share already developed Process Audit Checklists that are being used to document Internal Process Audit results?

Any time you perform process audits, you need to look at the following elements along with 4.9 process control, document and data control, product id and traceability, control of nonconforming product, calibration, training, inspection and testing and inspection and test status. When I schedule a process audit, I will use, as a guide, the standard ISO checklist questions as used by my registrar. Hope this helps..

I'm in the middle of doing the process reviews for each department, this is what I'm using as a general format (add items where needed):

For each dept - ID the Key process then complete.

Header Includes: Department & Review Dates
Footer includes: Page #'s, Resources used, preparer name

I. Process: Process Type:
a. Inputs:
i. Processed Material:
ii. Services:
iii. Hardware/Equipment:
iv. Software:

b. Activities:

c. Outputs:
i. Processed Material:
ii. Services:
iii. Hardware/Equipment:
iv. Software:

d. Goals:

e. Objectives:

f. Metrics:

For each area, I'm also identifying what documentation is in place (Corporate Specs, Plant Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, Forms (include 1st Piece, identification, Control/Spec charts...etc)

I have this file in word format if you want a copy, e-mail me and I'll reply with the attachment.

Okay, realized I misread your question. I'm using the process review as a tool for the transition, not for Internal Auditing.

I have heard about PDCA auditing only in brief. Does anyone have information or checklists about PDCA auditing? Is it any different from any other audit :topic:
I am I getting confused between process audits and the process approach to auditing?

PDCA auditing is process auditing in my view. A process can be formalized (and documented) in a PDCA format - we are in the process of converting ours into such a format. We highlight the planning/initial steps to process, what steps are the "Do", how we check, and any actions that may be taken.

To audit the process is to audit the PDCA of the process.

I guess I was under the impression that it was more of a technique or tool rather than standard use. The ASQ Quality Audit Handbook doesn't mention it as a technique or tool however, ASQ is selling a book that just deals in PDCA auditing as if were different from and more beneficial than say the "traditional" technique, (whatever that is).

Thanks,

James

PDCA is more of a methodology/philosophy rather than a specific audit technique. I suggest you audit each of your processes but take into account how they are planned, how they are performed, how they are monitored and measured and how action is taken on the outcomes of the monitoring and measuring.

Look for outcomes from your processes, are they what was expected? are they suitable as the input for the next process or if it is the final process, is the customer getting what they wanted?

By doing this, you can apply the PDCA methodology to any audit you perform.

Come on, people, we've got three edited posts on this page alone citing "As per Cove rules, please do not include your email in your posts." It's not that difficult a concept. If you wish for a copy of the checklist, please use the Private Messaging (PM) system here in the Cove to contact the person.

Welcome to the Cove!

You might try a search for checklists. There are many already posted here over the years the Cove has been running. It's not so difficult to audit with your own checklist. If you study the documentation of the organization you're auditing, then the checklist is easy to produce.

Agreed Andy - there seems to be an obsession with checklists prepared by someone else. The way I see it, preparing your own checklist is the best way to go.

Establish the audit criteria e.g. procedure, applicable clauses of the standard, contract, etc. Then choose which aspects of those that you consider important and want to audit. Put them in a form that helps you to organise and manage the topics e.g. a checklist and use it to guide you through the audit.
