Can anybody help -
We have EASA Part 21 Subpart G approval - Production Organisation and our sister company has EASA Part J approval - Design Organisation . We need components to be repaired? How do we go about this? Do we need to find an a repair organisation with EASA Part 145 approval or can we repair the components ourself?

You and your sister organization are prodution and engineering design.
If you need something repaired you need an EASA/FAR Part 145 and part 43 repair station to perform the repairs.

Can we not as a POA perform minor repairs if the DOA gives us the approval or is the only way around this to have the repairs done by an EASA Part 145 approved organisation even if it is a minor repair that does not affect the form, fit or function of the component?

Repairs to products, parts and appliances can be done only by an appropriate approved Maintenance Organisation (EASA Part 145, FAA Part 145/43) based on the repair manuals issued by the type design holder.
It doesn't matter if the repair is classified as minor or major, a Part 21, Subpart G-organisation is not allowed to do any maintenance/repairs except i.a.w. 21A.163 (d) (Maintain a new aircraft that it has produced and issue a certificate of release to service in respect of that maintenance).
It always requires a Part 145 organisation!
Hope that helps!
