Hi Covers,
As part of the process of preparing to comply with the FDA aseptic guidelines I need to justify the choice of a stainless steel biological indicator (BI) carrier (page 29).
I am looking for any references/experience anyone may have concerning the effects that the BI substrate may have on the resistance (D value & Z value) of Geobacillus stearothermophilus to a standard steam cycle (121 C)
I want to find out which substrates increase resistance above the typical stainless steel carrier. I would especially like to know what effect a paper substrate may have in a steam sterilization process.
Any help/guidance gratefully received,
Thanks,
Jimmy
