Although it doesn't exactly look like this (I'm too lazy to make a screen shot and do all the other stuff), you scroll down to "Attach files" (in red on this view) and click on the box that says "Manage attachments" and follow directions in the popup box.

What is the format of the picture and what is it's size? Are you trying to attach the picture, or use it as an Avatar?

Also see: How to Attach a File to a Post in a Thread (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=10668)

The maximum size of files (varies for different type/format of file) that you can attached are found therein.

There is a possibility the Cove software is blocking G White from attaching a file because he does not have a sufficient number of posts (we impose this limit to thwart spammers.) I am sending my email address directly to your email.. Send the picture to me as an attachment and I will add it for you.

If you want to attach a picture or other file to a post you make in a discussion thread, please read How to Attach a File to a Post in a Thread (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=10668).

If you want to attach a Profile Picture or an avatar, go to your UserCP (http://elsmar.com/Forums/usercp.php) (User Control Panel). On the left you will see a link to: Edit Your Profile (http://elsmar.com/Forums/profile.php?do=editprofile). There you can attach a picture up to 150 x 150 pixels in dimensions and up to 64 KB (file size). This has been sufficient for most Profile pictures.

If you want to add an 'avatar', look for the Edit Your Avatar (http://elsmar.com/Forums/profile.php?do=editavatar) link. The limitations are 75 x 75 pixels in dimensions and up to 64 KB (file size).

If you need help, let me know.

I did check permissions for file attachments, avatars and profile pictures for Registered Visitors and there is no minimum post requirement set.

See the test post. A Registered Visitor can upload attachments, add an avatar (including uploading one from their computer, and can upload a Profile picture. There is no 5 post minimum on those functions.

The 5 post minimum applies to putting live links and email addresses in posts. See the settings below.

Test post.
That seems to settle whether the software excludes low post count from attaching photos - NOT!
Thanks, Marc! Do you mow your own grass or hire it out (outsourcing?)

Do you mow your own grass or hire it out (outsourcing?)It's not all my land. My neighbor owns the better part of it.

Technically I do both. Local 'handyman' for US$10 an hour does horse pastures and stuff like that.

The picture:
(I was having trouble loading the original,
even though it was well within file size limits (928K.)
I resized the picture to 600 pixels wide
from 2,135 pixels and it loaded just fine:confused:

So, apparently, it was something about the original file which the
Cove software didn't like - not GWhite's error!)

Added in edit: max picture size is 1500 pixels square -
Doh! Even moderators don't stop to read [because we think we know everything!]

For posting the Picture,I really appreciate it. Hopefully so will everyone else. I am very proud of that Bill board. It took a week to create, mostly waiting on the paint to dry

I'm confused. Was this split off from another thread? What's the significance of the picture?

Jim,

I believe it started with this post (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showpost.php?p=242434&postcount=2357).

Here (http://elsmar.com/Forums/member.php?u=57808) is the OP's profile.

Actually, this was a split off from the Introduction.. Take a minute to introduce yourself thread. It appeared that our new Cover was having problems with loading a picture, and was unsure of where to put the question of the problem. So I put the question in it's own thread.

I was unclear of the purpose of the picture, but certainly wanted to help in whatever manner possible in getting it downloaded.:)

Sorry if that caused any confusion on anyone's part.:o

It's helpful if you post something saying that the split was done.:D

Yea... I know. You're right, and I knew where you were going. I was hoping just this once, it would slide. But oh no, you and Stijloor!:lmao::lol:

I did not know this thread was going to grow beyond a few questions. Sorry for confusion. Too, I probably should have copied the first post, and it would have helped.

Jim,
I just joined recently because I was looking for someone that might know if the bill board was still in existance. I created the bill board when I worked for 3M. When I finnally found the pic of the billboard, tried to load it and was having issues. One of the moderators ask me to send it to him which I did, he was having problems with this system as well so it wasn't me. He has the picture posted on his answer for me. So if you check down thru the post you will see the bill board I created of the SR71 Black Bird in 1993 it was placed on a route going toward Warner Robins GA.:bigwave:

Thanks. There was some confusion over the question being split off from its original location, but all is well now. :D
