View Full Version : What is an Epoxy suitable for autoclaving? vinqua 4th April 2008, 11:55 AM Which Epoxy is great under autoclaving cycles, we are talking about 135 Degree Celsius? BradM 4th April 2008, 12:01 PM :modcop: I revised the title a bit for clarity. Please let me or another moderator know if this title is not correct. BradM 4th April 2008, 12:02 PM Which Epoxy is great under autoclaving cycles, we are talking about 135 Degree Celsius? What is the epoxy used for? Is this an aerospace application? Are you working with composites? vinqua 4th April 2008, 12:13 PM This epoxy is used to glue a handpiece together which is used by Doctors during surgery. Maybe, I want to look for an Epoxy which would withstand above 135 Degree Celsius and not leak out or come off. andygr 4th April 2008, 01:16 PM Here is the "bible" that you would want to use to help select one. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbninquiry.asp?r=1&ean=081551185X The key elements that I see off hand are when cured must with stand 135 C which means that you need adheasive systems that are cured above this temperature or when chemicaly cured can with stand exposure to this temperature. FDA approval of the adheasive system needed? Realy out of my field but I think it might apply. What is missing to down select is the materials being joined. This will determine that type of adhesive to be concidered. :2cents: |
